MARELLI develops and produces complete electric powertrain systems from 48V up to 800V able to generate, manage, control and optimize the complete flow of energy in Electric Vehicles.
Leveraging on the technology transfer from race (F1, Formula E) to road, and a proven track record in mass production components, the production focuses on leading edge technologies such as Permanent Magnets Synchronous motors with Hairpin Stator, for maximizing power density and efficiency, with benefits on overall vehicle electrical range and performances. Translucent Skin and Switch
Here it is an example of a dashboard, combining the Marelli Translucent Skin and Translucent Switch technologies. Marelli Translucent Skin is an advanced and “active” surface result of an optimal integration of plastics and electronics.
The Translucent Switch consists in a touch display device, which can conceal symbol marks when the backlight is off.
The Marelli Translucent Switch uses the peculiar characteristics of the translucent skin — combined with specific printing process – in order to enable the evolution from traditional switches to advanced, smart, capacitive touch commands, with haptic feedback and enhanced design appeal.
While automotive displays are becoming increasingly sophisticated, they are missing the portrayal of the third dimension. 3D displays can be useful for perception of the surrounding environment, during a parking sequence, or to provide immersive navigation. At the same time they can replicate complex surfaces of an object or they can be used to display alerts to the driver.
Differently from all the other solutions on the market and thanks to “auto-stereoscopic” technology, this solution allows 3D vision effects without the use of diverse optical layers, thus making a simple and cost-effective solution possible.
The world’s first series production of a 1.3 million pixel headlamp. The Digital Light module creates ideal lighting conditions and can project images onto the road to communicate with drivers and pedestrians.
It is based on a matrix with a total of 1.3 million micro-mirror elements on a surface illuminated by 3 high current LED chips. Each of the small mirror elements can be controlled electronically individually. The matrix generated in this way is uniformly illuminated by high-current LEDs and projected onto the street within milliseconds by means of a multi-level lens system in the form of images.
Each mirror thus generates a pixel of the projected image and can turn on, off or dim the pixel by its flip-over movement.
