“I joined Marelli with a background in production engineering and have been playing as the plant manager in Kanda, Fukuoka, Kyushu, for the past two years.
My motto is to think through not only Plan B or C but also Plans D and E. In synchronized production, even a one-minute delay in decision-making can impact production and, in the worst cases, stop the customer’s vehicle line or result in quality defects. This habit is essential.
I focus on two main initiatives. First is the proactive involvement in Pre-SOP (Start Of Production) activities, which allows early sharing of production requirements and contributes to better blueprint creation for a quicker production line start-up. The second is personnel development. We emphasize reflecting on what should have been done when issues arise. This habit of examining factors within their department fosters an entrepreneurial spirit and strong ownership among the team.”
