Helen Redfern

Helen Redfern is an experienced executive leader with deep expertise in organisational transformation, culture, and leadership across complex, global businesses.
She served as Chief People, Sustainability and Communications Officer at Dowlais Group plc, a leading specialist engineering company formed following the demerger from Melrose Industries in 2023. Dowlais was subsequently combined with American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) to create a global leader in driveline and metal forming technologies, with Helen playing a central role in shaping the organisation, leadership, and stakeholder strategy to successfully deliver the combination. Helen joined Dowlais at its formation and was a member of the Executive Committee, where she led the development of the company’s people, sustainability, and communications strategies, and helped establish Dowlais as a London-listed business.
Prior to this, she spent over a decade at Kier Group plc as Chief People Officer and Executive Committee member, where she played a key role in the company’s turnaround and recapitalisation. Earlier in her career, Helen held senior HR and leadership roles at Ferguson Group and Sainsbury’s, building broad experience across the retail, infrastructure, engineering, and construction sectors.
